All About the Gardens

Here is the 2015 plot application for a WCG plot.

Volunteering
It’s a good thing that you want to volunteer because we have plenty of volunteer opportunities but no paying jobs — unless you want to be paid in goodwill and friendship. We meet at the Gardens many Saturday mornings from about 9 a.m. – 12 noon. There is always work to be done. We welcome individuals and community groups. If you want more information about group volunteer activities, contact WCG via info@westwoodcivic.org. Watch the WCG Facebook page for posts to the wall about this week’s work.
In addition to seasonal or one-time jobs, examples of ongoing jobs include:
watering plants along the perimeter
weeding
adding dirt to newer beds
adding mulch to walkways
publicizing the Gardens

Supporters
Year four (2014) saw support from the Pickerel family of Westside Subway, critical to the completion of the arbor gates. Prior year support from Westwood Works and Harvest Home Fair was also instrumental to the completion of the arbor gates. Ongoing support from the Civic Garden Center provided funding for soil. Two anonymous donors helped bolster the budget toward year’s end.

Year three (2013) has been another year of gardens’ improvement, thanks to the generous support of our advocates and friends. We acknowledge and thank the following organizations for financial support:
Anonymous donors
Civic Garden Center of Greater Cincinnati
Harvest Home Fair
Westwood Civic Association

In year two (2012), a number of organizations provided the Westwood Community Gardens with support — from tending the gardens to financial. Thanks to the following donors of monetary support:
Civic Garden Center of Greater Cincinnati
Harvest Home Fair
Westwood Civic Association
Westwood Works

Westwood Community Gardens could not have made such a huge splash in year one (2011) without the generous support of dozens of volunteers who contribute hundreds of hours of service and several amazing organizations that have given us a huge jumpstart. We are grateful to these sources of enthusiasm, dollars, and champions:
