Ring the Bell - Support efforts to get MadCAP into the Bell Building

Westwood Civic and WestCURC are working together to assist the MadCAP puppet company in its quest to acquire the Bell building. If you would like to assist in the effort, please email jslewandowski@yahoo.com.

Please put something about MadCAP in the Bell Building in the subject line and address your email to the Board President, MadCAP Productions. For an idea of what to put in your email, you can see a copy of a postcard many people have sent by clicking here.

Westwood Civic Announces “Neighborhood in Neighborhood” Initiative

Have you ever wanted an opportunity to get more involved in your immediate neighborhood? How about a chance to meet your neighbors? Well, the Westwood Civic Association has just announced its “Neighborhood in Neighborhood” initiative.

Once a month, we will gather together in a neighbor’s yard for some pizza, soda, and fellowship. Learn about the different ways that you can become involved in making your neighborhood a safer, better place to live. There will also be an opportunity to join the Westwood Civic Association ($10 per year), purchase an “I Love Westwood” shirt ($10), or purchase our new Westwood Banner ($20). After each event, we will walk to a nearby corner and join our friends doing “Good Guy Loitering.”

Here are the dates and locations:
July 9 - 6:30 PM - 2918 Fischer Place
August 21 - 6:30 PM - Location TBD
September 16 - 6:30 PM -Location TBD
October 16 - 6:30 PM -Location TBD

To learn more about Good Guy Loitering, you can go to their website (www.goodguyloitering.org).

Westwood Banners Available - Show Your Westwood Pride!

WCA now has an "official" Westwood banner available for purchase. The banner is beautiful and the product of that great local artist, Mercy High School student Zoe Zeszut. They cost a mere $20 and would make a beautiful addition to any decor. Banners will be available for sale at all Westwood Civic meetings, and will be available at the Westwood Civic booth at the upcoming WestFest. For more information, or if you just can't wait that long to get one, send an email to Becky Weber at bmimmy@aol.com and we'll take care of you.
